Office for Visual Interaction

My ongoing writing for lighting designers Office for Visual Interaction includes updating the firm’s website texts, preparing press kits, facilitating awards submissions, and managing public relations correspondence. In 2010, I authored texts for the office’s first solo exhibition, held at the Aedes architecture gallery in Berlin, as well as for an accompanying publication. Currently, I am working with the firm’s principals to develop a book-length monograph showcasing their worldwide portfolio and highlighting their unique approach to lighting design.

Canadian Centre for Architecture

This analysis of an archival map was written at the Canadian Centre for Architecture, where I held a fellowship in 2009. The article stemmed from my doctoral dissertation work, which concerns the Canadian Pacific Railway’s promotion of Western Canadian landscapes at the beginning of the twentieth century. By building up an infrastructure of rails, roads, hotels, and hostels, the railway company encouraged tourism to wilderness regions such as the Rocky Mountains.
